Storekeeper/Material Handler - Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

Participates in the receipt, identification, storage, packing and issue of materials, equipment and spare parts in the central company stores. Includes ensuring that received materials, equipment and spare parts match the description and specifications of related purchase order, monitoring all documents for received/issued materials and participating in periodic inventory checking as required. • Participates in the receipt and inspection of all materials from local and/or overseas suppliers. Includes collecting purchase orders with suppliers invoice, packing lists and/or shipping documents and inspecting materials to verify compliance with documentation in terms of quantity, specifications, quality, etc. Acknowledges receipts of materials from suppliers by initialing related delivery notes. Prepares materials received reports and overage, short and damage reports and submits to Store Supervisor for follow up. • Checks, correct identifies, bins and stacks all materials, spares, equipment and pipes in locations according to vocabulary number. Ensures the correct stacking of pipes in accordance with recommended practices. • Issues, in accordance with correctly authorized stores requisitions, various materials, spares and equipment to relevant department. Ensures that materials are issued on the basis of “first in, first out” (FIFO) system. Raises necessary documentation which accompanies materials to site and follows up to ensure correct transfer of issued materials and appropriate signature for receipt. Passes all stores issue vouchers (SIVs) and obtains Supervisor’s approval. Posts all issues on respective stores requisition and closes when all requested items are issued. • Ensures that all items of stock materials in the warehouse are adequately and correctly protected prior to placing on the metal shelving. Includes arranging for the hot dipping of bright steel items, wrapping with impregnated rust inhibitor and other recommended protective material. Where materials are rubber, electronic or contain volatile liquids ensures that these are placed in the temperature control storage areas and that each location is correctly recorded. • Ensures whilst handling dangerous inflammable or toxic materials, that the strictest safety standards are enforced by all Company and/or contractor’s employees. Ensures that the warehouse receiving and issuing areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that safety regulations are strictly observed by Company and contractor personnel in the area. • Assists in the clerical and records keeping activities of the section, by updating Maximo System and keeping all store records filed updated with all receipts and issues. • Carries out other similar or related duties such as ensuring the prompt processing or urgent materials, assisting with periodic physical inventory, reporting on frequency of movement of stock items, maintaining good housekeeping, answering queries from user departments, providing status reports on stores requisitions as required. • Update day to day work and all data management work in computer system correctly and generate required reports whenever necessary. • Internal, frequent contacts with employees at own level the Stores and with employees of user departments usually at a slightly higher level when issuing materials and/or to answer queries. Frequent contacts with delivery personnel to receive materials and /or discuss problems related to part deliveries or wrongly supplied materials. • Carries out work in accordance with well defined materials procedures and specific work instructions. Work is checked at stages of the work cycle, but is generally carried out in a team environment. Responsible for his own action and collectively responsible for co – workers. • Responsible for his action and his colleague in job assignment. • 100% physical effort required in carrying out day to day routine. • 100% exposure to hot & humid outside environment occasional office atmosphere.

Profile • Completion of Secondary (12 years) education. Diploma Stores Management preferred. • 5 years experience in a materials environment in an oil/gas company. • Excellent in written and spoken English with computer working knowledge required.
