Paiting Insulation Supervisor-Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates
PURPOSE To follow up, coordinate, plan and supervise Painting and Insulation activities, on equipment located in the plant areas. BACKGROUND The Painting/Insulation Coordinator reports to the Civil Section Head together with Civil Engineer and Scaffolding Coordinators. The civil section is part of Central Maintenance group, which provides a range of specialized maintenance services to Area Maintenance team. Painting/Insulation Coordinator coordinates the activities with different sections such as Inspection, Operations and Safety, reviews annual program schedules for painting and insulation from Inspection Section, and also receives painting/insulation work orders from the MAXIMO system. These activities require a good knowledge of paint types, preparation of surfaces, plus hot/cold insulation types, systems and their application/installation. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES • To utilize MAXIMO work-order tracking of daily maintenance work orders, plant shutdown requests and prepare job plans for Painting and Insulation activities. • To coordinate with Inspection Engineer, the degree of surface cleanness required and selects paint system as per specifications. • To coordinate and identify with Inspection items requiring painting, coating/insulation works and prepare action plan accordingly. • To coordinate and identify with Inspection items requiring painting, coating/insulation works and prepare action plan accordingly. • To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures. • To update the MAXIMO system with data on material consumption and manpower hours expended. • To participate in preparation of detailed “Method Statement” for execution of hazardous work tasks, and ensure that all safety precautions are implemented by outsourced Contractor. • To prepare contingency plan for unplanned shutdown activities and allocate the cost centre in consultation with Civil Section Head. • To provide instruction to meet Competency Base Training programs for UAE Nationalization. MAIN CHALLENGE • To improve the physical management of Contractor related HSE issues, with due regard to the large teams of Contractor staff scattered in remote locations around the plant and working in physically challenging conditions.
