Software Migration Manager-Malaysia

Key Responsibilites
Configuration Delivery
Responsible for SCM engagements including scope confirmation and approval from relevant stakeholders
Responsible for advising software migration approaches and/or by producing the SCM strategies/plans with development teams
Ensure all migration activities are executed as per the quality framework and processes, and under the governance structure agreed with all stakeholders in the SCM strategy/plan
Comply with testing and software configuration processes for the engaged test projects
Drive migration issue resolution (jointly with the engaged project manager) to closure
Assess software migration risks and provide advice to GRM regarding the readliness of a system for production
Responsible for producing monthly reporting plus any relevant documentation
Proactive recognition of project changes, risks mitigation and planning, and tracking of mitigation actions
Analyze and propose changes involving SCM manmagement, process and standards to maximize efficiency

Process and Compliance
Good understanding and able to apply SCM processes in all projects
Contribute in implementing of standardized SCM process within systems development on SCM process, tools, etc
Contribute in identifying and managing SCM process improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency
Comply with all applicable rules and regulations including group policies
Comply with the software quality management practices and policies (defined by QMF)
Upholding the values of the group and company at all times

Financials
Develop project effort estimation, to be agreed with the engagement project manager
Manage the project within the agreed cost, else with the necessary approval obtained
Manage SCM budgets and identify areas of improvement to achieve cost reduction
Manage and minimize possible/anticipated team's downtime

Customer and Service Focus
Responsive to customer and project needs, as well as managing customer expectations
Establish a close working rapport with project manager to understand issues and risks underlying the project
Ensure the support provided to other teams and transitions is of the highest quality

Leadership and Team Bulding
Responsible for staff management aspects, inclusive of recruitment, talent development, knowledge retention, etc
Build a team of competent and right skilled resources for delivering software efficiently
Manage attrition so that there is (a) no intellectual loss, and (b) no project impact due to attrition
Manage test resources (and team morale) to ensure highest level of engagement possible

Quality, Cost and Speed to Market Focus
Ensure that there are zero defect and/or high severity incidents due to migration errors
Proactive participation or follow-up in the project post-implementation or production issues due to migration errors, if any
Reduce manual processes as mush as possible by automating the migration processes
Ensure that test environments and software are controlled by SCM during the entire test project progress
Continuous improvement in productivity to the standards prescribed in QMF Lite )or SCB approves process)

Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in software configuration management in an IBM MVS environment or the related field is required for this position.
Good understanding of system development life cycle
Knowledge on ISPF, MVS JCL and utility is essential
Knowledge of CICS, Hogan, Cardlink, Endevor, ClearCase and Control-M will be added value
Applicants must be willing to work in Petaling Jaya.
Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
Preferably Managers specializing in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent.
